To provide a method for producing a catalyst carrier and a catalyst film, both having many reactive points; and a catalyst carrier and a catalyst film.
The catalyst carrier is produced by a method comprising forming an Al2O3-MoO3 film containing Al2O3 and MoO3 and thermally treating the Al2O3-MoO3 film. The film forming step of the Al2O3-MoO3 film comprises spraying a mixed powder containing Al2O3 and MoO3 together with a carrier gas to a substrate through a micropore nozzle. The thermal treatment step is conducted in an oxidative atmosphere at 650-850°C for at least 5 hr to selectively sublimate MoO3. The catalyst film is produced by causing the catalyst carrier to carry at least one catalytically active component selected from among ruthenium, palladium, and platinum.
