PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for industrially efficiently producing a cyclohexenone compound by preventing extremely harmful methyl vinyl ketone from being distilled out of the reaction system.SOLUTION: In the method, a cyclohexenone compound of formula (2) is produced from an aldehyde compound of formula (1) and methyl vinyl ketone in a halogenated hydrocarbon solvent in the presence of an acid catalyst (Rand Rare an alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group, an aryl group or a heteroaryl group).SELECTED DRAWING: None
