Abstract:
To provide a method of producing microfibrous cellulose comprising mechanically defibrating cellulose fiber so as to easily provide microfibrous cellulose with a fiber width of 2-1000 nm.
There is provided a method of producing microfibrous cellulose in which a cellulose fiber is treated at least through a degreasing process, a delignifying process, a hemicellulose-removing process and a refining process so as to produce the microfibrous cellulose with a fiber width of 2-1000 nm, and an acid aqueous solution treatment is performed in the delignifying process. In the delignifying process, the acid aqueous solution treatment is followed by an aqueous alkali solution treatment.
