Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a polysulfide compound under anhydrous reaction conditions.
SOLUTION: The method for producing the polysulfide compound comprises carrying out a reaction between a dihalogen compound of formula(I):X-R-X[ wherein, X is a halogen atom; and R is a (substituent- or heteroatom-containing) 2-24C alkylene group or an aromatic alkylene group ] and a metal polysulfide of formula(II):M-Sx-M( wherein, M is a groupIA metal atom; and x is an integer of 2-6 on average ) in an anhydrous solvent system.
