Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a power transmission cable using a non-halogen flame-retardant resin composition which shows good thermal aging characteristics even when steam crosslinking is performed.SOLUTION: Provided is a method for producing a power transmission cable in which a sheath layer is crosslinked by making it contact with steam, where the sheath layer 9 is formed of a non-halogen flame-retardant resin composition comprising a base polymer and a flame retardant, where the flame retardant is one of magnesium hydroxide alone, aluminum hydroxide alone, silica alone, co-use of magnesium hydroxide and aluminum hydroxide, co-use of aluminum hydroxide and silica, and a content thereof is 50 pts.mass or more relative to 100 pts.mass of the base polymer. With such a sheath layer, even when steam crosslinking is performed by a steam pipe 240, magnesium silicate is not generated and lowering of a residual elongation rate after a thermal aging can be suppressed. Further, a power transmission cable can be produced efficiently without using a protective layer for suppressing generation of magnesium silicate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
