To provide a method for efficiently producing a thermoplastic elastomer composition while suppressing the adhesion of additives to the inside wall of a pipe to stably feed the additives in specified amounts.
The method for producing the thermoplastic elastomer composition by crosslinking a rubber component and a thermoplastic resin component comprises the following successive steps 1 and 2: step 1 of melt-kneading a rubber component, a thermoplastic resin component, and additives, which are in the form of a particulate additive mixture containing at least a crosslinking aid and an antioxidant, and step 2 of further adding a crosslinking agent and kneading the resultant mixture to effect crosslinking. In a desirable embodiment, the rubber component is an olefin copolymer rubber comprising an ethylene/propylene copolymer or an ethylene/propylene/nonconjugated diene copolymer.
