Abstract:
To provide a method for producing a water-soluble polymer having a low degree of polymerization at a low temperature and in a low concentration, suppressing the degeneration of side chain active group occurring in the case of polymerizing at a high temperature, resulting in a low energy consumption.
This method for producing the water-soluble polymer is provided by keeping ≤10 wt.% concentration of a specific water-soluble monomer or monomers consisting of the water-soluble monomer mixture and synthesizing the polymer by using a redox initiator at ≤10°C temperature.
