Abstract:

To provide a method for recemizing an N-acylamino acid which progresses under a mild condition.

This method for recemizing an N-acylamino acid by a transition metal catalyst is to react a mixture brought to be rich in an enantiomer expressed in general formula I: R-CH(NR1COR2)CO2H [R, R1 and R2 are each independently expresses H and/or an alkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aryl and/or heteroaryl; The alkyl and aryl may be substituted.], in the presence of a transition metal salt, transition metal complex or transition metal complex salt or their mixture containing one or more of elements from Fe, Ru, Os, Co, Rh, Ir, Ni, Pd and Pt at preferably 10-150°C.
