Abstract:

To provide an easy method for recovering a polycarbonate polymerization catalyst.

In the method for recovering a dissolved polymerization catalyst used in the copolymerization of an epoxide compound and carbon dioxide in a solution in a method for producing polycarbonate by the copolymerization, the polymerization catalyst contains a conjugated diene moiety or a dienophile moiety, and an insoluble granular carrier correspondingly containing a dienophile moiety or a conjugated diene moiety on the surface thereof is introduced into the solution containing the polymerization catalyst, the polymerization catalyst is fixed in the insoluble granular carrier by the Diels-Alder reaction, and the fixed polymerization catalyst is separated from the solution.
