Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reinforcing method for reinforcing a concrete columnar body in a very small working space and to provide a reinforcement for use in the method.
SOLUTION: A belt of reinforcement 4 made of reinforcing fibers is wound around a concrete columnar body 1 provided close to a wall surface 2, and impregnated with a resin among the reinforcing fibers to reinforce the columnar body 1. A hardened part 5 previously impregnated with resin is formed in the longitudinal middle part of the belt of reinforcement 4, and after an adhesive is applied to one side of the hardened part 5 the reinforcement 4 is set in place so that the hardened part 5 is located on the side face 1a of the columnar body 1 facing the wall surface 2. The hardened part 5 is then bonded to the side face 1a, and the parts of the reinforcement 4 other than the hardened part 5 are impregnated with resin and bonded to the columnar body 1, after which the resin is hardened. A reinforcing layer impregnated with resin and hardened, in which the fiber direction of reinforcing fibers is oriented in the direction of the axis of the columnar body 1, is provided on the hardened part 5 of the reinforcement 4 and used for reinforcement against bending. A good bond can be obtained by putting an air bag in a gap between the reinforcement and the wall surface.
