Title:
METHOD FOR REMOVING HYDROGEN CHLORIDE FROM POLYVINYL CHLORIDE IN WASTE PLASTICS
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH07102262
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the damage to equipment due to hydrogen chloride gas generated from polyvinyl chloride contained in waste plastic material when recovering low-molecular hydrocarbon compounds from waste plastic material.

CONSTITUTION: In recovering low-molecular hydrocarbon compounds from waste plastic material by crushing the material to give plastic chips, feeding the chips in a melt state into a raw material mixing tank, and sending a melt from the mixing tank to a thermal decomposition tank to effect decomposition, the plastic melt are melt-kneaded to continuously remove the hydrogen chloride generated from polyvinyl chloride contained in the plastics before being fed into the raw material mixing tank. Before raw material melt is supplied to the mixing tank, the vinyl chloride is completely melted so that the generated hydrogen chloride can completely be removed; therefore, main facilities for thermal decomposition on the downstream side are free from corrosion by hydrogen chloride.
