To quickly, easily and sufficiently remove drops of water adhering to an umbrella without scattering them around by vibrating in vertical directions an umbrella inclined at a small angle against a vertical line in relation to a bottom portion with simultaneously transmitting rotational motion to the umbrella without rotating a handle portion of the umbrella.
When a tip end portion 18 of an umbrella is inserted through an umbrella inlet 2, a sensing detector located on a bottom 5 actuates a driving device 14 to transmit rotational motion to the umbrella 8 inclined at a small angle in relation to a vertical direction of the bottom portion 5. Then, since the umbrella main body 8 is supported by a protecting cover 3, only the tip end portion 18 is rotated by rotation of a rotating body 13. A handle portion 4 of the umbrella is not rotated and small vibration caused by the rotation makes an upper portion of an umbrella rod perform a small circular motion and the umbrella in an inclined state changes inclination angle to make movement in vertical directions so that dynamic vibrations are provided when the tip end portion 18 of the umbrella in contact with a depression of the rotating body 13 is rotatively moved from one depression to another.
