Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize double speed reproduction of a digital compression video image that is accurate and smooth in motion display independently of conditions at end coding and synchronously with an audio signal.
SOLUTION: A reproduced stream is read at a transfer rate being twice or over that for usual reproduction (101), and a reproduction object picture is decoded (102). Decoded odd number line data are copied on a mapped add number field area (103). Whether or not the picture type indicates an I-picture is discriminated from the picture head of the stream (106), and when the picture type is the I-picture, the picture is decoded (107), copied to add and even number fields (108) and displayed (109). When the picture type is not I-picture, the picture is decoded (110), data on even number lines are copied to a memory (111) as even number field data of a display area, and a frame picture synthesized from odd and even number picture is displayed (112).
