Abstract:

PURPOSE: To efficiently resolve the stereoisomer by passing a stereoisomer mixture of an aliphatic epoxide with an eluting solution through a gas chromatography column under a separating condition except a separating condi tion of gas chromatography, bringing the stereoisomer mixture into contact with an effective amount of a separating agent such as a polysaccharide.
CONSTITUTION: In a method for resolving a stereoisomer mixture of an aliphatic epoxide of the formula [R1 to R4 are H or 1-30C (substituted) aliphatic group] by gas chromatography, the mixture together with an eluting solution (hexane/2- propanol=95/5) is passed through a column packed with a separating agent of a polysaccharide or its derivative [e.g., amylose tris(3,5- dimethylphenylcarbamate)] supported on a carrier such as silica gel under a separating condition of chromatography except a separating condition of gas chromatography and brought into contact with an effective amount of the separating agent to efficiently resolve the stereoisomer of an aliphatic epoxide, especially its enantiomer.
