To provide a method for separating nickel from an acidic solution of sulfuric acid by an iron exchange resin by which a recovery solution with the same concentration can stably be obtained even in the case treating cycles are repeated, and also, the automatic of equipment is possible.
An adsorbing process in which sulfuric acid is adsorbed in an SO4 type anion exchange resin, and an Ni solution is recovered and an eluting process in which sulfuric acid is eluted are controlled by the conductivity of a discharging liquid. At the time of the adsorption, the discharging liquid having the conductivity of 10 to 200 mS/cm is recovered as an Ni solution, and the adsorption is finished when the same reaches 200 mS/cm. At the time of the elution, the liquid having the conductivity of ≤80 mS/cm is recovered as a sulfuric acid solution, the liquid having the conductivity of 80 to 70 mS/cm is repeatedly separated as an elution solution, and the elution is finished when the same reaches 70 mS/cm.
