Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the recovery by a constitution wherein alkaline decomposition and acidic decomposition take place using potassium peroxodisulfate in one decomposition tube.
CONSTITUTION: Alkaline potassium peroxodisulfate is decomposed in the prestage region 2 of a decomposition tube being held at high temperature in a system for feeding 1 the decomposition tube continuously with an alkaline aqueous solution of potassium peroxodisulfate while injecting an aqueous solution of sample intermittently. Subsequently, acidic potassium peroxodisulfate is injected 3 into same decomposition tube and decomposed in the post-stage region 4 of the decomposition tube. Decomposition liquid is discharged and analyzed by a conventional method thus analyzing total nitrogen 5 and total phosphorus 6 automatically.
