Abstract:
To regulate power consumption of a display for satisfying a predetermined power demand relating to the power consumption.
A method for controlling power consumption in a power controllable display device (PCDD) includes: (a) a selection process for selecting a backlight level of the PCDD based on energy efficiency; (b) a content adjusting process for correcting the backlight level by adjusting image content so that it is displayed on a display of the PCDD by using the backlight level; (c) a reception process for receiving a notification of a power control event in the PCDD; and (d) a level adjusting process for adjusting the backlight level in response to the power control event.
