Title:
METHOD FOR THERMALLY PRINTING LARGE IMAGE BY USING RELATIVELY SMALL DYE-DONOR PATCHES, DEVICE USED FOR THE PRINT, AND USE METHOD OF THE PRINT METHOD
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05185628
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To produce a large image by using a dye-donor film without any distortion to be manufactured by an available photogravure press by making partial perfect segments of first and second sub-images be overlapped with each other so that a perfect image may be produced by the overlapping of the sub-images.

CONSTITUTION: A printer controller treats the data of each of the sub-images as 2-block data, and the first block is allocated to non-overlapping segments 64 and 74 of data fields 60 and 70 respectively. The second block is distributed over both of overlapping segments 62 and 72 of the data fields 60 and 70. Namely, 50% of the data of the second block is allocated to the segments 62 and 72 respectively, and the data distribution is conducted in accordance with a distribution mechanism considering the position of the element of the image data in relation to border lines 66 and 76. Blank regions of the segment 62 are inter-positioned or intermixed with the regions of the segment 72 to which the image data are allocated.
