Title:
MICROBIOLOGICAL PRODUCTION OF 6-HYDROXYNICOTINIC ACID
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3220210
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain a new microorganism using a cyanopyridine as an only one supply source for carbon, nitrogen and energy and capable of simply converting the cyanopyridine into 6-hydroxynicotinic acid useful as an intermediate for dichloronicotinic acid which is a pharmaceutical raw material.
CONSTITUTION: This microorganism grows using 3-cyanopyridine as an only one source for carbon, nitrogen and energy and is further capable of converting the 3-caynopyridine as a substrate into 6-hydroxynicotinic acid, e.g. Acromobacter sp. (DSM6336). The microorganism is prepared by inoculating a sample obtained from, e.g. purifying equipment into a culture medium in a shaking flask, culturing the microorganism using the 3-cyanopyridine as a carbon and energy source, then applying the resultant cultured product to an agar culture medium and carrying out the culture.
