Title:
MICROPROCESSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3862291
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a microprocessor capable of reducing expenses and sufficiently improving functionality by the use of a so-called boundary scanning standard function to be intruduced to almost of recent complicated integrated circuits.
CONSTITUTION: This microprocessor 20 is provided with a processor element, a memory interface element, an I/O interface element, a debugging storing element, and an internal bus 48 for mutually connecting all the elements. In order to easily execute debugging, the microprocessor 20 connects a registered boundary scanning standard (JTAG) interface element 46 to the bus 48, so that the element 46 accesses one or more scanning chains in the microprocessor 20 and arrays the accessed chains so as to control DMA type exchange for other elements connected to the bus 48 through the bus 48.
