Abstract:
To provide a microwave applicator capable of improving the efficiency in using microwaves in the chemical reaction using microwaves and reducing the time necessary for the reaction thereby, and a method for decomposition using the same.
The microwave applicator for chemical reaction is characterized by a reflection plate for reflecting microwaves oscillated or transmitted from a microwave oscillator in a fixed direction. A catalyst layer is disposed inside the microwave applicator with the reflection plate, and an organic halogen compound is decomposed by letting a mixture liquid including the organic halogen compound flow in the catalyst layer and applying microwaves to the mixture liquid via the reflection plate.
