To restrict the operation cost with a miniature size by disposing a water tank in an internal space, an ultrasonic moistening apparatus in an internal space located on the upstream side of a porous structure for vaporizing water in the water tank, detecting moisture in a room or in an internal space located on the downstream side of the porous structure, and controlling the operation of the ultrasonic moistening apparatus in response to a detecting output.
A porous structure 16 is provided in an internal space 10a which has a plurality of through-holes 16a each of which through-hole opens to the sides of a suction inlet 11 and a blow-off outlet 12, and acts to permit air to pass therethrough. A first water tank 17 is located at a low part of the internal space 10a and a second water tank is located at the side of the porous structure 16. The porous structure 16 comprises a ceramic and has small cells therein, on outer periphery of which water absorption cloth 18 being a hydrous means is wound. An ultrasonic moistening device 20 is disposed on the bottom of the first water tank 17, and water in the first water tank 17 is atomized to bring an internal space located upstream the porous structure 16 into high moisture.
