A mobile terminal has a static electricity detection part for detecting static electricity, and a control part for performing a predetermined processing according to a detection condition of the static electricity detection part. The control part performs processing to cut off power supply to a component in the mobile terminal other than the static electricity detection part as the predetermined processing when an amount of static electricity detected by the static electricity detection part is not less than a first threshold. The static electricity detection part performs a processing to restart the power supply to the component other than the static electricity detection part when the detected amount of static electricity is not less than a second threshold larger than the first threshold after the power supply to the component other than the static electricity detection part is cut off. The control part performs a processing to notifying that the static electricity detection part detects static electricity as the predetermined processing, when the power supply to the component other than the static electricity detection part is restarted.
