Abstract:
To provide modified release gamma-hydroxybutyrate formulations having improved pharmacokinetics.SOLUTION: Provided are a modified release gamma-hydroxybutyrate formulation with improved dissolution and pharmacokinetic properties, and their therapeutic use. Therefore, one object of the present invention is to provide a modified release gamma-hydroxybutyrate formulation with improved dissolution and pharmacokinetic profiles, which is administered only once at bedtime. Another object of the present invention is to provide a modified release gamma-hydroxybutyrate formulation approximately equal to the bioavailability of an equal dose of sodium oxybate immediate-release solution agent administered twice overnight, by optimizing the bioavailability of gamma-hydroxybutyrate.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
