Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method for molding ceramics which are constituted in such a manner that the density distribution of a body is forcibly equalized in a molding step and the tissue of the body can be made fine, in a combined press-molding and lathe molding technique and a molding device using said method.
CONSTITUTION: A ceramics molding method is to press a press molding die of uneven shape copied after the profile of a molding to a body with a concurrent action to vibrate a molding frame containing the body at the frequency of vibration of 5 to 100/sec., preferably 10 to 50/sec. and an amplitude of 0.05 to 3.0mm, preferably 0.1 to 1.0mm. A molding device consists of a molding frame 1 mounted, in a freely detachable manner, on a vibration table 6 supported by the base block of a main device system through an elastic supporting member 5, and vibrate the vibration table by vibration induction mechanisms 8, 11. In addition, the molding device presses a top force and a bottom force of a die rotated at a specified speed (or not rotated) to the body subjected to vibration in the molding frame at a specified speed.
