To provide a monitoring device for a switch capable of ensuring accuracy of results of discrimination by corresponding to inherent operation characteristics per switch and simplifying the work for setting the standard for discriminating operation.

This monitoring device 1 for the switch 2 is provided with a switch sensor 3 for monitoring an operation condition of the switch 2 driven by a motor 2B and detecting abnormal operation and a display device 4 displaying abnormality of operation of the switch 2 detected by the switch sensor 3. The switch sensor 3 has a current sensor 6 measuring motor current when the switch 2 operates, a storage part 9 recording measurement data DM in which current waveform of motor current measured by the current sensor 6 when the switch 2 performs predetermined operation appears as standard data DH, and a processing part 8 comparing the standard data DH with the measurement data DM in which current waveform of the motor current measured when the switch 2 operates after that appears to discriminate abnormality of operation of the switch 2.
