Abstract:

To realize highly accurate security authentication system which has simple and low-cost configuration.

A monitoring system comprises: an IC card reader 2 which reads out personal information registered with an IC card held by a monitoring target person; a face authentication reader 4 which radiates infrared light on the person and detects the reflected light to measure a three-dimensional shape of the person; an imaging device 3 which images the person to generate two-dimensional image of the person; and a PC 7 which performs authentication of the person by using the three-dimensional shape measured by the face authentication reader 4 and the two-dimensional image generated by the imaging device 3, on the basis of the personal information read by the IC card reader 2.
