Abstract:
The present invention provides a monitoring work assistance system for a steel plant which can assist in monitoring work of a worker who checks a data waveform across the entire length of a material to be rolled visually to determine an occurrence of an abnormality. A data preserving unit preserves result data for the entire length data including the measurement value of a prescribed data item at each longitudinal point of a material to be rolled. An abnormal chart pattern registration unit registers one or more entire length data abnormal for the data item. A similarity determination unit determines that waveforms are similar if the square root of the squared average of the deviation of D1_dev[i] and D2_dev[i] is smaller than a threshold value. D1_dev[i] is the deviation of a value D1[i] at each point [i] (i=1, ..., N) of the result data and the average (ave1) of the result data. D2_dev[i] is the deviation of a value D2[i] at each point [i] of the abnormal entire length data and the average (ave2) of the abnormal entire length data. A message output unit outputs a preregistered warning message if waveforms are determined to be similar by the similarity determination unit.
