PURPOSE: To obtain the subject monoclonal antibody suitable for assay of biogen amines such as catechole amines by combining a coupling product of the biogen amines and specific reagents to a carrier, and using the product as an immunogen.
CONSTITUTION: The primary or secondary biogen amines are coupled interposing a functional amine group, with the coupling reagents of formula X=C=N-R-Y [X is O or S; R is an aromatic, a cycloalkyl group, etc.; Y is a carboxyl of the formula (Z is OH, a group Z1 convertible into a reactive ester, etc.)]. The carboxyl residue Z of the product is converted into the reactive ester group, etc., the active product is bonded to the carrier, to obtain the carrier coupled product capable of acting as the immunogen. The carrier coupled product is immunized on an experimental animal, collecting the monoclonal antibody against to the coupling product of the biogen amines and the coupling reagents which is the antibody to the primary and secondary biogen amines, from the immunized animal in a conventional method.
