Title:
MOORING ROPE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3518617
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain lanyard for sea, in particular for mooring a vessel which has the high strength per weight, dimension stability, and the excellent handling performance, by braiding fiber bundles which are formed by composing the polybenzazole having a breakage strength of at least a specific value and the superhigh molecular weight polyetheylene fiber, in a specific weight ratio.
CONSTITUTION: A vessel mooring rope is formed through the braiding of the fiber bundles each of which is formed by composing the polybenzazol fiber having a breakage strength of at least 4.0GPa and the superhigh molecular weight polyethylene fiber having a breakage strength of at least 1.3GPa, in a weight ratio of 90:10-30:70. Accordingly, in comparison with the case of only the polybenzazol fiber, the weight reduction can be achieved, maintaining the high strength, and softness is applied, and handling performance is improved. Further, in comparison with the case of the double braiding of only the high strength polyethylene fiber, the high strength and the excellent creep resistance are provided, and further, the smoothness of the high strength polyethylene fiber is suppressed by the mixed weaving of the polybenzazole fiber, and the boundary deflection between an inner layer rope 1 and an outer layer rope 2 due to an external force is suppressed, and in comparison with the case of braiding of only the para-group aramide fiber, the high strength and the excellent waterproofness can be achieved.
