To provide a motor with a damping brake having high reliability by enabling release of a damping force without decomposing the damping brake and by reducing dispersion of brake retaining performance before and after release of the damping force.

The damping brake 20 is equipped with a brake spring 21, a lining plate 22, a brake disk 23 and a rotating shaft 24, and also equipped with an iron core (movable electromagnet part) 29 mounted on a brake cover 25 and the lining plate 22, an electromagnet (fixed electromagnet part) 30 mounted on the brake cover 25, and a brake releasing shaft 28 movable along the rotating shaft 24. The outer circumference of the brake releasing shaft 28 is threaded, and is screw-fastened with the brake cover 25.
