The fluorescent display tube is configured so that: a phosphor layer including a ZnO:Zn phosphor and other oxide phosphors occupies 95% or less of the entire phosphor layer area in the fluorescent display tube where Lu2O2S:Eu is used; the phosphor layer including a ZnO:Zn phosphor and other oxide phosphors occupies 90% or less of the entire phosphor layer area in the fluorescent display tube where La2O2S:Eu is used; and the phosphor layer including a ZnO:Zn phosphor and other oxide phosphors occupies 80% or less of the entire phosphor layer area in the fluorescent display tube where Gd2O2S:Eu is used.
