Abstract:
To provide multi- or dual-headed compositions useful for chain shuttling and a process to prepare the same.SOLUTION: Multi- or dual-headed chain shuttling agent (CSA) compositions having the formula R1MA[R2MA-]NR1 can be synthesized by using a sterically hindered compound and an organometallic compound in the presence of a transition metal catalyst. The multi- or dual-headed CSAs can be used as an olefin polymerization catalyst capable of producing new polyolefins, such as telechelic functional polymers.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
