Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent spatial disadvantage and the deterioration of performance by restraining reduction in the swirl ratio by interference of flows of sucking air.
CONSTITUTION: Intake air helical ports 11 and 12 to communicate with opening parts in which intake valves 4 and 5 are arranged, are formed in a cylinder head 2. Projections 13 and 14 are formed inside the ports 11 and 12 in a part where both ports 11 and 12 approach each other so as to project in the side part direction. Sucking air introduced into the intake air helical ports 11 and 12 flows while drawing a swirl downward along an inner wall, and is introduced into a cylinder 3, and forms a swirl as a whole. In a part where flows of sucking air approach each other, there is the possibility that the flows interfere with each other in the cylinder 3, but the sucking air is distributively flowed in the vertical direction as the projections 13 and 14 as a boundary in the ports 11 and 12. Therefore, the flows of the sucking air are weakened in a part where there is the possibility of interference, and a degree of interference can be reduced.
