Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a musical sound generator which enables a variation of the performance of a piece of music, and is enabled to perform the performance rich in variety according to the intent of the user.
SOLUTION: Performance data for generating the musical sound signals consisting of two or more performance parts are stored into RAM 13. The performance data include two or more part data having different variation for each of two or more specific performance parts in two or more performance parts. A variation switch 27 detects the specific motion, such as movement of hands of a human being, and is used in order to select one of two or more part data for every specific performance part. A musical sound synthesizer 15 selectively reads one part data selected for every specific performance part with the variation switch 27 from a RAM 13, and synthesizes musical sound signals of accompaniment music by using each of the read part data, and switches the part data to be selected for every specific performance part on the basis of the selection operation with the variation switch 27 in real time, and synthesizes the musical sound signals of accompaniment music.
