PURPOSE: To prevent a user from reading an original again when temporarily storing image data read by a scanner in a memory and outputting them through this memory to a printer.
CONSTITUTION: A memory change flag showing whether the used capacity of a memory part 302 is calculated or not is checked, when that flag is set, the used capacity of the memory part 302 is calculated, and the result is transmitted to a system control part 500. Over one reference amounts (just for one piece in the size of A4, for example, or the like) to be easily grasped by the user can be set through an operation part 450, and the idle capacity of the memory part 302 is displayed on the display part of the operation part 450 for each set reference amount. When memory write is finished and it is detected that transfer paper completing image formation is ejected (at the time of reading end), the memory change flag is set.
