Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide necessary newest and detailed information by identifying the position information of map data displayed on a display means with the received position information, retrieving and extracting detailed information of the identified area for supplementary data, and transmitting the obtained information to a navigation system.
SOLUTION: A navigation system 101 comprises a memory medium 103 in which map data and supplementary information of the map data are housed, an input detecting means 104, a supplementary data housing means 110, etc. A supplementary data providing system 102 comprises a reception means 112 to receive a supplementary data transmission demand from the system 101, a data retrieving means 115, a data housing means 116, etc. The system 102 transmits the supplementary data retrieved by the means 115, so that the system 101 can reflect the supplementary data on a drawing providing the supplementary information for the map data displayed on a display means 105.
