Abstract:

To provide a thinner-walled structure of a needle and thereby stabilize the picking by enabling the rounding working of a needle tip port of a weft yarn nozzle of a fluid jet type loom.

This needle 5 is formed of a metallic material and the surface thereof undergoes hardening treatment. Since the surface hardening treatment is carried out, the durability in fluid is improved to reduce the yarn damage or breakage and the fluid stream is stabilized. Since the rounding working 53 is carried out in a tip port 51, the peeling and sticking of foreign materials from a weft yarn are reduced. As a result, the weft yarn coherency and bundling properties are improved. Since the needle 5 is made of a metal, a thinner-walled structure can be provided to improve the weft yarn capturing efficiency. Thereby, picking characteristics are remarkably improved as synergistic effects thereof.
