This lead-acid battery has positive and negative output terminals 2A and 2B on the upper surface of a monoblock type battery container 1, in such a state as eccentrically located toward the side of maintenance surface 3, when the battery is installed. In addition, electrically insulating upward projections 4 and 4' are formed on the upper surface of the battery container 1 so as to be higher than the positive and negative output terminals 2A and 2B and not to obstruct maintenance work for the terminals 2A and 2B.
