Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve directivity and stabilize brightness in a neon lamp for display by controlling glow at tip parts 41, 41 of an internal electrode 4.
SOLUTION: A glass bulb 1 is formed in a cylinder shape, on one end face of which is provided a lens-shaped part, and the other end face 3 opposing the lens-shaped part 2 is formed flat, the inside of the bulb in the form of a sealed vacuum space. Inside the glass bulb 1 is arranged a pair of internal electrodes 4 in parallel along the bulb axis direction. Tip parts 41 of the internal electrodes 4 are made to protrude inward facing each other with shorter interval than any other parts of the internal electrodes.
