To provide a new anti-adhesive compound exhibiting anti-adhesive properties.
The compound may be a monomer or a polymer. Provided is a method for the treatment of a receptor-mediated disease by using the compound. Also provided is another method for crop protection, medical devices and anti-fouling use. Disclosed are new anti-adhesive compounds for the use on a surface sensitive to the influence of adhesion by various biologics. Included in these compounds are esters of coumaric acid, mixed esters of coumaric acid and zosteric acid, and several kinds of other compounds described in the examples. These anti-fouling substances can be used for preventing the damage of such surface with biologics, preventing the formation of a biofilm on such surface, preventing the infection of such surface with biologics, suppressing the formation of thrombus on such surface and other uses easily conceivable by those skilled in the art.
