USE: The peptide has an anti-coagulating activity, a blood platelet coagulation- inhibiting activity and a fibrinolytic activity and useful as an adverse effect- reduced remedy for circulatory diseases, gestosis, etc., and as an anti- thrombogenic agent for medical artificial materials.

PREPARATION: An anticoagulant containing an amino acid sequence of the formula is prepared, for example, by the following processes: combining a DNA coding the peptide containing the amino acid sequence of the formula with a replicable expression vector to form a recombinant DNA, introducing the recombinant DNA into a microorganism or cell to transform the microorganism or cell, screening the transformant from the parent cells of the microorganism or cell, culturing the transformant to express the recombinant DNA for producing the peptide and subsequently isolating the peptide from the cultured transformant.
