Abstract:
To obtain a new tyrosine hydroxyl derivative showing antimicrobial activity.
This compound is expressed by formula I [R is O; R1 is CHO, CH=NOH or CH(OCH3)2; R2 is H or mycarosyl; R3 is N(CH3)2 or NO(CH3)2; a broken line is a single bond or double bond] such as 12,13-dihydro-12,13- dihydroxy-desmycosin(3'N-oxido)20-dimethyl acetal. The compound of formula I is obtained, for example, by oxidizing a compound of formula II and then subjecting the obtained compound of formula I, if required, to reduction of N-oxide, reduction of N-oxide and 10-11C double bond or oximation reaction.
