Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nitrogen treatment method capable of efficiently removing the nitrogen compound of low concentration under a dilute chlorine ion containing solution and capable of achieving the miniaturization of an apparatus and a cost reduction.
SOLUTION: In a method for treating a nitrogen compound in water by an electrochemical technique, an electric conductor containing the Group Ib or IIb element or an electric conductor coated with the same Group element is used as a metal material constituting a cathode 6. Further, a shield member 9 which is formed into a structure preventing the passage of oxygen gas bubbles and receiving no effect of flowing water on the side of an anode 5 and permits ions to pass, is provided between the cathode 6 and the anode 5.
