Abstract:

To fully bring out original characteristics of platinum by weakening the effect of bonding between platinum and a carrier while preventing the platinum supported by the carrier from sintering.

A noble metals-supporting catalyst (10) includes the carrier (La10Si6O27) and the platinum (Pt) supported by the carrier; in addition another noble metal such as rhodium (Rh) is supported by the carrier; and the carrier includes a composite oxide containing an electron accepting element such as lanthanum (La) and another element such as silicon (Si), and the molar ratio of the electron accepting element to the sum of the electron accepting element and another element is 0.3 or higher. A substrate is coated with the noble metals-supporting catalyst (10) to form a catalyst apparatus.
