NEW MATERIAL:The compound of formula I [R1 is OCH2COOX (X is H, NH4 or alkali metal); R2 is group of formula III (R3WR6 are lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, nitro, carboxyl, etc.; R7 is H, lower alkoxy, halogen or nitro), etc.; n is integer of 2W5] or formula II.
USE: A reagent for the determination of α-amylase activity in saliva, pancreatic juice, blood or urine.
PREPARATION: The compound of formula I or formula II can be produced e.g. by (1) dissolving β-cyclodextrin in an aqueous solution of sodium hydroxide, (2) dripping and reacting an aqueous solution of monochloroacetic acid to the solution at 40°C to obtain carboxymethyl cyclodextrin, (3) dissolving the compound in an aqueous solution containing p-nitrophenyl α-glucoside and ammonium acetate and (4) reacting the solution with cyclomaltodextrin glucanotransferase.
