Abstract:
NEW MATERIAL:A terpenic compound expressed by the formula (R<1>-R<5> are selected from any combination of I-III in the table). USE:Useful as an antitumor agent having antitumor activity. PREPARATION:A plant body of the scientific name Cassearia sylvestris SW (a plant of the family Flacourtiaceae and Paraguayan name Burro-Kaa) employed for the purpose of antispasmodic, hemostatic uses, etc., in South American countries, such as Paraguay or Brazil, is used and extracted with ethanol, chloroform, etc. The resultant extract is then adsorbed on, e.g., silica gel or active carbon, and then successively eluted with suitable solvents to afford the aimed compound expressed by the formula.
