Abstract:

To provide a novel triazine compound useful as a UV absorber exhibiting an effect of shielding UV in a long wavelength range and having excellent light resistance, a UV absorber maintaining an effect of shielding long wavelength UV for a long time, and a resin composition.

The compound is represented by formula (1) [in the formula, R1a, R1b, R1c, R1d, R1e each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a monovalent substituent excluding OH, provided that at least one of the substituents represents a substituent having a positive σp value of the Hammett's rule and that the substituents may bind to each other to form a ring; R1f, R1g, R1h, R1i, R1j each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a monovalent substituent excluding OH, provided that the substituents may bind to each other to form a ring; and R1k, R1m, R1n, R1p each independently represent a hydrogen atom or a monovalent substituent, provided that the substituents may bind to each other to form a ring].
