NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I [A represents formulae IIWIV (B represents H, halogen, nitro, methyl or trifluoromethyl; n is 0W2); X represents H or methyl; Y and Z represent lower alkyl or cyclopropyl together with adjacent C atom].
EXAMPLE: 1-Dimethylcarbamyl-3-tertiary butyl-5-(2-pyridylthio)-1,2,4-triazole.
USE: An agricultural and horticultural insecticide or synthetic intermediate therefor.
PREPARATION: A triazole based compound expressed by formula V [example; 3-tert-butyl-5-(2-pyridylthio)-1,2,4-triazole] is reacted with dimethylcarbamyl chloride to afford a compound expressed by formula I. The starting raw material expressed by formula V is novel and produced by reacting a 5- mercaptotriazole compound expressed by formula VI with halogenopyridines, etc.
