NEW MATERIAL:A compound expressed by formula I (R represents heterocyclic group).

EXAMPLE: Bis(2-hydroxy-6-isopropyltropon-3-yl)-(thiophen-2-yl)methane.

USE: An anticacer agent.

PREPARATION: For example, a compound expressed by the formula RCH (OC2H5)2 (example; thiophenecarbaldehyde-dithioacetal, etc.) is reacted with hinokitiol expressed by formula II in a solvent (example; xylene, etc.) or without using any solvent in the presence or absence of a catalyst (preferably potassium t-butoxide) usually at 150W180°C for 1W10hr. As for the starting material, nor mally 0.5W1mol of the former and preferably 0.01W1mol catalyst are used based on 1mol of the latter.
